Unique mixed media painting or wall sculpture, featuring an interesting technique where the artist painted what look to be industrial use molds or some such remnants and incorporated them into the piece to make a soft and boldly colorful composition. Painted on wood and framed gilt frame, unsigned, circa 1950. An unsigned piece by Carl M. Cochran, it can be seen in his posthumous auction catalog. Could easily be rewired and hung in any orientation. Measures approximately 41in tall x 36in wide. Excellent vintage condition, some of the pieces have missing sections that the artist has painted over as part of the composition, minor nicks and dings to frame.
