Marvelous carved alabaster bust of a young woman serenely looking to the left, with thick flowing hair, wearing an embroidered dress with a tasseled headscarf and a painted set of jewels on her head. Signed on the underside of the bust and on the base “Castellana”. Measures 12.75in tall x 10in wide x 4.25in deep. Excellent vintage condition, some light wear, a few minor imperfections in the marble that feel completely smooth to the touch, most notably on her nose and her shoulder.
