SOLD - Large Red Abstract Acrylic Denim Wash Painting
Bright and unique large acrylic painting on canvas. Artist uses an interesting acrylic wash technique where, not unlike a monoprint, the artist used a piece of fabric to blot on new layers of color. This technique was achieved with, what I am fairly certain based on the imprints, a pair of old jeans, and creates layers of color hidden under layers of red and darker colors. Signed lower right J. Derby. Measures overall 74.5in wide x 38.5in tall. Excellent vintage condition, slat frame has a few minor nicks and dings, very slight warp upwards on the ends from the center (can be seen in the photos)
