Fabulous pair of hand carved wall shelf or brackets. Each has been lovingly restored by a skilled woodworker, where the original smaller carved section has been mounted to a substantial contemporary shelf made of solid fiddleback maple. The original bracket shelves I would date to mid to late 19th century, folk art carved with angel or cherub heads in the center, each surrounded by acanthus leaves, wings, and topped with a corinthian column scroll. The tops and depths of each shelf measure the same but the original sections vary in size at 30in across and 10in deep. The larger bracket measures approximately 17.5in tall and the smaller measures approximately 16.5in tall. Excellent vintage condition, newer maple shelf section has minor wear from use, the original section has some fading, dirt accumulation, and structurally tight cracks as pictured.
