Unique handmade folk art kinetic balancing sculpture of a soldier riding a horse. The soldier is dressed in Roman or Hippolyte cavalry armor and garb, riding a decoratively adored white horse. The sculpture rests atop the base on the horse’s rear legs, with a counterweight to allow the whole piece to bob up and down. The arms and head of the soldier, as well as the head of the horse, also bob up and down in unison. Circa 1930s. Measures 11 wide x 2.75 deep x 13in tall. Good vintage condition, some age appropriate wear, the thread for the reins are cut but can be easily replaced.
