Incredible and striking etching plate, featuring an almost surrealist composition of a nude woman crouching and hovering her hand above the floor, with a massive array of seashells. The woman has incredible rendering for her extremities, hair, and body, and the seashells are magnificently detailed, with striations and stripes flowing in and out with fields of light and dark. I believe this was an aquatint, because you can see different hues and tones to the different shapes. Unsigned, but clearly a masterful work by a skilled artist. Framed in solid wood frame. Measures 27.25in x 21in, 23.25in x 17.25in image area. Excellent vintage condition, light age appropriate wear.
