Vintage Postmodern Sculptural Studio Made Chair with Parallel Stacked Base
Unique one of a kind studio made chair, featuring a unique seat and back structure floating within a base of evenly spaced rib like framing. There is a lot of thoughtful use of negative space, both below the seat and within the gaps of the frame between the ribs, allowing for light to pass through. Solidly constructed from solid pine and steel spacers, with off white boucle upholstery. Circa 1980, was told from the previous owner that the piece was created by a designer from Cranbrook Academy. Chair measures 30in wide x 20in deep x 36in tall, seat measures 20in tall x 19 wide x 14 deep. Good vintage condition, some light wear and dirt accumulation on the frame, around the seat, arms, and along the bottom as pictured.
